Homeowner's Association
The Community is a mature neighborhood made up of 510 home sites. The majority is single family homes but there are Golf Villas with zero lot lines.
The community has deeded access to Lake Brantley which has a beach, park, and boat ramp which is shared with Sweetwater Oaks. Tennis courts and canoeing which we also share with Sweetwater Oaks is also popular.
The word Apopka came from the Timucuan Indian language, and means big potato. The area was first inhabited by Seminole Indians who lived along the Wekiva river banks, as well as many lakes in the area. The area was first settled by non-natives in 1842. Wekiva Springs was formally known as Clay Springs, where the Clay family had a trading post and 3 story hotel.
In the 1850’s the settlement began to grow because of the agricultural opportunities available in the area.
The area continued to grow rapidly in the 1860’s and 1870’s and was incorporated as a town in 1882.
Apopka is currently one of the fastest growing areas in Central Florida due to new construction on the 429,
a major highway in the area.
Residents can enjoy boating, water skiing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, playgrounds, biking trails, and many other natural activities that are unique to this area. It is a perfect place to enjoy with your family or to simply appreciate nature’s bountiful gifts.
